FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the technology of inorganic substances and can be used in preparing silica-containing solutions of aluminium salts, used as coagulants-flocculants for treating waste and drinking water, as well as for depositing suspended solids from mineral suspensions when treating large volumes of highly muddy water. The method is realised by treating crushed nepheline-containing material with 20-35% sulphuric acid solution with acid consumption equal to 70-100% of the stoichiometrically required amount for 5-120 seconds while maintaining temperature of 70-100°C. The obtained suspension consisting of an aluminium-silicon-containing solution and insoluble mineral particles is diluted with water and insoluble mineral particles are separated from the aluminium-silicon-containing solution of the coagulant-flocculant. The suspension is preferably diluted with water until concentration of SiO2 is no longer greater than 40 g/l.

EFFECT: method increases efficiency of producing coagulant-flocculant owing to intensification of the method, provides polymerisation degree of silicic acid during acid treatment of the material of up to 78%, and also increases the extraction ratio of AI2O3 to 97,6%, and SiO2 - to 92,4%.
