FIELD: high-voltage pulse engineering. SUBSTANCE: generator designed for producing short-front high-voltage pulses in electron-beam and X-ray shaping units as well as for high-voltage pulse technologies has series-connected pulse source and pulse transformer with cylindrical core accommodating coaxially arranged current conductor connecting pulse source to transformer primary winding. Transformer core is mounted inside current conductor. Transformer windings are coaxially arranged inside transformer core, One lead of secondary winding is connected to current conductor and other one, to load. Winding is wound on additional core which is fully or partially conical in shape. EFFECT: enhanced output voltage, efficiency, and power capacity. 3 cl, 3 dwg
