FIELD: pulse engineering; magnetic pulse generators.
SUBSTANCE: proposed pulse generator designed to generate high-voltage, short-length, and high-power pulses for feeding various loads has series-connected pulse source, pulse transformer using cylindrical ferrite core disposed inside current duct that connects one output of pulse source to finishing lead of pulse transformer primary winding 5. Starting lead of the latter is connected to other output of pulse source. Pulse transformer windings are coaxially disposed inside above-mentioned core. Secondary winding is wound on additional core and connected to load. Novelty is introduction of saturable-core pulse transformer whose primary winding is connected to pulse source output. Output of secondary winding is connected to starting lead of pulse transformer primary winding and to current duct. Current duct is divided into (n + 1) coaxial conductors with additional insulating cylindrical or flat conductors in-between, some of them being connected to starting lead and other ones, to finishing lead of pulse transformer primary winding. Pulse transformer is provided with n windings whose starting and finishing leads are connected to respective additional conductors. Saturable-core pulse transformer is provided with n secondary windings.
EFFECT: enhanced power and reduced time due to positioning energy stores as close as possible to load; reduced inductances in main and auxiliary circuits.
