FIELD: measurement technology. SUBSTANCE: according to proposed method article under testing is heated by point heat source by moving the latter, excess maximum temperature of head surface of article in point located behind point heat source in direction of its movement is measured by first thermal detector, distance of lag of temperature check point from spot of heating by point heat source is changed until excess maximum temperature is equal to preset value, distance of lag of check point from center of spot of heating by point heat source is measured, and excess maximum temperature of article heated surface along line square to line of movement of point source at different values of power of point source of thermal energy is measured additionally by second thermal detector.
