FIELD: aircraft navigational systems; landing of flying vehicles on runway. SUBSTANCE: method consists in reception and measurement of electromagnetic field formed by system of electric conductors laid in areas of radio beacons by means of on-board systems. Magnetic field has definite frequency, intensity and topography. Determined by magnetic field are: horizontal velocity of aircraft, rate of descent, flying altitude, shift relative to runway and distance between aircraft and end of runway. Process of placing aircraft on runway is controlled by on-board computer according to preset program. EFFECT: enhanced accuracy and reliability of aircraft landing.
