FIELD: hydraulic engineering. SUBSTANCE: invention is meant to frighten away fish, their larvae and young stock from water intake structures. Proposed approach provides for formation of electric pulses in aqueous medium with the aid of current-conducting electrodes. Electric pulses are fed from 500-1239 V electron pulse radiator with pulse frequency 10.5-20.0 Hz for creation of protective electric field in which duration of pulses acting on fish amounts to 200.5-240.0 mc and these pulses are of exponential form. EFFECT: high efficiency of protection of fish, larvae and young stock against entering water intake structures without any harmful effect on ichthyological life in water basins. 2 dwg
