FIELD: hydraulic engineering, frightening fish away from deep-seated water intake structures. SUBSTANCE: method provides for formation of electric pulses in aqueous medium with the use of current-conducting electrodes. Electric pulses are supplied from electric current converter with pulse amplitude 1591-3000 V and pulse frequency 8.1-10.4 Hz to form protective electric field in which duration of pulses acting on fish amounts to 100-169 mc. EFFECT: high efficiency of protection of fish and their young stock against entering deep-seated water intake structures without any harmful effect on ichthyological life of water basins. 1 dwg
