FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves the use of maize oil polyunsaturated fatty acids as a substrate for oxidation where an antioxidant preparation is added before incubation. Then method involves the effect with inducing agents of oxidation for a definite time under standard conditions followed by complex assay of an antioxidant activity of preparations by spectrophotometry and chemiluminescence based on estimation of products of lipid peroxidation and expressing its in ubiquinone units. Antioxidant activity exhibits inversely proportional pattern with respect to the level of lipid peroxidation products.
