FIELD: converter engineering. SUBSTANCE: multilevel converter has one capacitor (C1, C2, and Cn) for each of its cells as well as control facilities incorporating means (VMO1, VMO2, and VMOn) for determining mean voltage across terminal leads of each capacitor (C1, C2, and Cn), means (VE1, VE2, and Ven) for determining probable deviation of definite mean charging voltage for each of mentioned capacitors (C1, C2, and, Cn) from mean rated charging voltage of respective capacitor, and also additional control facilities (MCC1, MCC2, and MCCn) that function to vary time-division position of converter control signals to reduce this deviation.
