FIELD: support of mine workings. SUBSTANCE: roof bolting includes use of load-carrying rod with bearing member on its locking end, lock from loose material and propping member restricting the lock from side of hole mouth. Bearing member is made in the form of truncated cone conjugated with load-carrying rod by its small base. Lock is formed from loose material located in cavity between hole surface and side surface of truncated cone. Taper angle is determined by proposed mathematical expression. EFFECT: higher bearing capacity of roof bolting due to formation of self-wedging lock. 1 dwg
