FIELD: plastic metal working, possibly production of wheels, for example, motor vehicle wheels. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of upsetting preliminarily heated blank; then deforming it at several transitions for forming rim and boss portions of wheel with predetermined sizes; at beginning first deforming transition of upset blank forming in said blank central opening; deforming blank by bending for making semifinished product in the form of cone sleeve; beading the last; moving it to bottom part of die set and simultaneously performing combination pressing out and crimping; at last deforming transition realizing crimping and calibration of rim portion and additionally shaping boss portion of semifinished product; then subjecting semifinished product to heat treatment and mechanical working.
