FIELD: mechanical engineering; atomizing of slurry fuels in furnaces and combustion chambers. SUBSTANCE: according to proposed method fuel is previously heated and transferred to metastable state by decreasing the pressure at flowing through atomizing device after which explosion-like boiling takes place. According to invention, fuel is heated to corrected temperature of dispersion medium τ = T0/Tkr = 0,75÷0,93 where T0 is temperature at inlet of atomizing device, and Tkr is critical temperature of dispersion medium, with subsequent flowing out and atomizing at outlet of atomizing device. EFFECT: improved quality of atomizing and provision of stability of slurry fuel consumption characteristics. 9 dwg
