FIELD: petroleum processing and petrochemistry. SUBSTANCE: mixture of light hydrocarbons C1-C7 is subjected to processing at elevated temperature and pressure, preferably at 400 to 600 C and pressure 0.1 to 3.0 MPa, in presence of catalyst containing 20-70% of Pentasil-type ultrahigh-silica zeolite with silica/alumina molar ratio 25 to 160, 0.05-2,5% of iron oxide or mixture of iron oxide with zinc oxide and/or gallium oxide (a binder - to 100%). Catalyst can contain as a binder aluminosilicate so its composition is the following: 0.5-7.5% alumina, 0.05-2.5% iron oxide or its mixtures as above, 0.05-0.5% sodium oxide, and silica - the balance. In case when zinc silicate is used as a binder, catalyst is composed of: 0.4-7.2% zinc oxide, 0.05-2.5% iron oxide or its mixtures as above, 0.3-0.8% alumina, 0.05-0.5% sodium oxide, silica - the balance. In case when alumina is used as a binder, catalyst is composed of: 0.05-2.5% iron oxide or its mixtures as above, 0.05-0.5% sodium oxide, 18.0- 68.8% silica, and alumina - the balance. Use of this catalyst results in production of gasoline with yield 28.8-44.1%, octane number (research method) 88,9-114.2, and production of diesel fuel (boiling end 200 C) with yield 15.2- 30.2%.
