FIELD: metal recovery processes. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the recovery of substances from aqueous solutions by organic extractants that can be applied in ferrous and nonferrous metallurgies and also for treatment of trade and domestic effluents. Manganese anions are recovered via extraction with trialkylamine/isooctyl alcohol mixture in kerosene at pH less that or equal to 7 followed by reduction of manganese anions to lower oxidation state by way of lowering solution pH and increasing extraction time.
