FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to extraction of substances using organic extractants from aqueous solutions and can be used in non-ferrous and ferrous metallurgy, as well as for cleaning industrial and household wastes. Method involves treatment of electrolyte and extractant, contacting electrolyte and extractant, wherein selective extraction of Fe (III) and Cu (II) ions from nickel electrolyte with a mixture of oleic acid and triethanolamine is carried out in two steps: 1 step - extraction of Fe (III) at 3<pH≤4, ratio of volumes of aqueous B and organic O phase 1≤B:O≤4 and t 40 °C, 2 step - extraction of Cu (II) at 5≤pH≤6, 1≤B:O≤4 and t 40°C. Combined extraction of Fe (III) and Cu (II) ions from nickel electrolyte with a mixture of oleic acid and triethanolamine is carried out at pH 5-6, 1≤B:O≤4 and t 40 °C.
EFFECT: method provides higher efficiency of selective and combined extraction of Fe (III) and Cu (II) ions from nickel electrolyte.
