FIELD: hydrometallurgy and waste water treatment. SUBSTANCE: method involves, as reagent, CYANEX 272, whose active component is di(2,4,4- trimethylpentyl)phosphinic acid, copper is recovered by extraction at pH > 2, in particular at 3 ≤ pH <7, extraction pH being controlled for no longer than 1 h, whereas precipitation of copper from aqueous solution with reagent is performed at pH > 7.
