FIELD: metallic coatings. SUBSTANCE: invention aims at creating metallic coatings on surfaces of articles, in particular when manufacturing and repairing articles requiring impermeability, elevated corrosion resistance, heat resistance, and other properties. For that, compressed air preheated to 400-700 C is used to form high-speed air flow in supersonic nozzle in order to accelerate and apply onto surface of articles a powdered material, in particular mechanical mixture of ceramic powder and powder of at least one metal, of which zinc powder represents 20 to 60% in the total weight of metal powder. EFFECT: increased productivity of process, decreased gas-permeability of coatings, and increased their adhesion to support. 8 cl, 1 tbl
