FIELD: technology and units for gas-dynamic application of coats; mechanical engineering and other industries. SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes heating of compressed gas, delivery of this gas to supersonic nozzle, introduction of preheated powder into supersonic portion of nozzle at simultaneous removal of heat from walls of nozzle, acceleration of powder in nozzle by gas flow and application of accelerated particles of powder on surface of article. Compressed gas is first fed to preheater wherefrom it enters nozzle 1; heat from supersonic portion of nozzle 1 is removed by means of heat exchanger 3. Powder is introduced into heat exchanger through hole 5 and is transported via passage 4. While moving over passage, powder is heated and in such state it is fed to supersonic portion of nozzle through hole 2. EFFECT: enhanced operational reliability; reduction of adhesion of particles on nozzle walls. 8 cl, 7 dwg, 1 tbl
