WELLHEAD SEALING DEVICE Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

FIELD: mechanical engineering; oil and gas refining industry; designing new wellhead setup; sealing devices for polished rods of surfaces being sealed during operation of pumping unit of sucker-rod pump. SUBSTANCE: carrier bar of sealing device is provided with elbow articulated members for connection with polished rod for turn in three axes; body of stepping drive has ratchet teeth and mating teeth are made on butt of bush rigidly secured on adapter of wellhead setup which is provided with reserve sealing unit with pressing ring and threaded cover; working sealing unit is located in above-mentioned pressing ring and threaded cover made in form of bush has external thread on opposite end for cover of working unit. Availability of reserve wellhead sealing unit enhanced durability of proposed sealing device. Ratchet teeth ensure rotation of carrier bar during reciprocating of polished rod, thus excluding unscrewing of sleeve joints of carrier bars and ensuring smooth wear of rods and connecting sleeves. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency and reliability; enhanced durability due to smooth pressing of sealing members to surface of polished rod; enhanced fire safety and industrial ecology. 5 dwg
