FIELD: automotive industry tractor building, railway and sea transport, aviation. SUBSTANCE: hybrid power unit for vehicles with electric transmission and motor-in-wheels has frame, reactor for producing heat energy, steam turbine plant, medium frequency synchronous ac generator, gyroscopic moment asynchronous compensator and automatic regulation and control system. Gyroscopic moment asynchronous compensator is supplied by synchronous electric generator at opposite alternation of phases. Sense of rotation of rotor of asynchronous compensator is opposite to sense of rotation of electric generator rotor turbine and disk. This provides compensation of gyroscopic moment of high-speed rotating parts of power unit. Use of proposed invention, as compared with known devices, increases efficiency of utilization of energy of vehicles to 55 - 60%, makes it possible to create ecologically clean vehicles, improves control of vehicles employing high-speed turbines owing to compensation of gyroscopic moment, change over from internal combustion engine to more efficient, reliable and light gas- steam turbines and medium frequency electric generators and provides additional saving of energy to 65% owing to regeneration of kinetic energy at frequent braking and acceleration of vehicle on city roads, almost four-time reduction of consumption of chemical fuel and complete replacement of chemical fuel by heat energy produced by small-size reactor in process of synthesis of elementary particles.
