FIELD: methods of locating leaks from pipes lines laid in hollow hermetic envelopes and casings. SUBSTANCE: sensors sensitive to change in pressure are fitted in cavity of hermetic envelope coating the pipe line and moment of appearance of wave of increased pressure arising at point of leakage and spreading inside hermetic envelope to both sides from leak is recorded. EFFECT: enhanced sensitivity and noise immunity in locating leaks.
