FIELD: instrumentation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to pipeline transport and can be used for detection of leakage in line pipe wall of the main pipeline. The transmitting information channel is both pipe wall metal, and the medium in the pipe. Vibrations of metal pipe are registered, and also impulse of excessive pressure generated in case of leakage in a pipe wall, and the followed generation within acoustic noise spectrum of additional high-frequency components. By difference of time of arrival of elastic acoustic waves propagating along the pipe metal and through the medium to the pressure and vibration sensors the information on leakage location is obvious. By amplitude level of high-frequency components the information on its sizes and hazard level are available.
EFFECT: improvement of reliability of operation of line part of the main pipeline due to quick and reliable detection of its leakage.
