FIELD: military equipment, in particular complexes of armament. SUBSTANCE: method of firing of a projectile connected to a detachable powder propelling device consists in launching of the propelling device, discharge of the projectile and propelling device from the launching tube, separation of the propelling device from the projectile in the time interval between the moment when the momentum imparted to the propelling device in the process of its launching becomes sufficient for its launching from the launching tube and the moment of projectile launching from the launching tube. In the complex of armament, including a launching tube, projectile with the bourrelets connected to the powder propelling device by the separation mechanism, whose maximum diameter does not exceed the caliber of the launching tube, the separation mechanism is made in the form of a tearing member, whose carrying capacity is within F₁≤Q≤F₂, where Q is carrying capacity of the tearing member; F₁ is force required for acceleration of the propelling device in the launching tube bore to a velocity providing for its launching from it; F₂ is force acting on the projectile at the maximum pressure of the propelling device powder gases in the beginning the launching tube, and the length of the launching tube is made proceeding from the condition of provision of movement of projectile in it in the centered state up to the moment of separation of the propelling device.
