FIELD: measurement technology. SUBSTANCE: method involves forming two beams of collimated optical radiation types. The beams are directed along the same straight line to meet each other. A standing wave is created and dispersed gas flow is sent at an angle different from perpendicular one. Counter-beams of collimated optical radiation types are focused in a common point that is matched with one of the standing wave nodes. Dispersed particle speeds are determined by measuring time between scattered optical radiation maximum points. EFFECT: formable countable volume of minimum permissible size; enabled speed measurement of particles in the cases of their high concentration. 3 dwg
