FIELD: ceramic material for large-scale production of brake disks and the like. SUBSTANCE: proposed Si/C/B/N base composite material with high-heat fibers reaction- bonded with ceramic base matrix is manufactured by impregnating bundles of fibrous material of Si/C/B/N fibers with pyrolysis-capable astringent and curing the astringent followed by conditioning bundles of fibrous-material with pyrolysis-capable shielding layer such as phenolic resin or polycarbosilane, whereupon mixture is prepared from bundles of fibrous material, fillers such as SiC and carbon in the from of graphite or carbon black, mixture is molded to produce raw material which is then decomposed by heat in vacuum or in shielding gas environment for producing porous molded blank which is then infiltrated, preferably in vacuum, with silicon melt.
