FIELD: analytical methods. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to determining concentrations of extractants in extract solutions, in particular to determining concentration of tributyl phosphate in n- paraffin solutions. Method involves treating extract solution with concentrated sulfuric acid (11-13 mole/l), which is carried out at organic-to-aqueous phase ratio between 5: 1 and 5:3, after which one measures electromotive force between organic solution and equilibrated aqueous phase and determines concentration of extractant from calibration curve representing electromotive force plotted vs. vol % of extractant.
