FIELD: poultry farming. SUBSTANCE: method involves evaluating genetic lines by egg-laying capacity, live weight, egg weight and density; adding calcium into ration at the age of 36-40 weeks separately from common feed for 5-7 days; selecting species with mean calcium consumption in each genetic line. Gauged mussel is used as calcium test. Hen selection by optimal calcium consumption allows feed consumption per 1 kg of egg weight yield to be reduced, egg density to be increased and laying hen productivity to be inheritable.
