FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves introducing two catheters into the epidural space, directing them in cranial direction and positioning 4-5 cm apart one from the other. Synchronous injection of anesthetic agent solutions and indifferent solution takes place. To apply anesthesia to the above placed spinal cord segments, anesthetic solution is introduced into the epidural space through a catheter with higher positioned end and the indifferent solution is introduced through the catheter which end is positioned below. To apply anesthesia to the inferior spinal cord segments the levels for introducing the solutions are changed. EFFECT: enhanced effectiveness of local epidural anesthesia. 3 dwg
