FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves introducing needle 1.5-2.0 cm caudal and 1.5-2.0 cm medial relative to posterosuperior iliac spine. Cannula portion of the needle is deviated 15 deg inward and brought through the second hiatus sacralis. The needle is moved through peridural space to exit on the ventral surface of the sacrum and anesthetic solution is injected. EFFECT: enhanced effectiveness of anesthesia.
