FIELD: cleaning liquids by filtration through layer of grain charge. SUBSTANCE: method consists in passing liquid through layer of grain charge in downward direction; after contamination and colmatage of upper layer of charge, slots are made over entire surface of charge at depth to or slightly exceeding thickness of sedimentation layer to increase mud capacity of charge; after mud capacity has been exhausted, flushing fluid is fed in counter-flow for increase of mud capacity of charge; after flushing, hills are formed on surface of filtering layer.
