FIELD: polymer production. SUBSTANCE: method involves cationic polymerization of triethylenediamine monomer at heating in presence of catalyst, reaction mixture being preliminarily deaerated in a vacuum at temperature varying from -196 to 150 C. Disintegrated and washed poly-1,4-ethylenepiperazine is added to aqueous solution containing solvent and oxidant capable of forming atomic oxygen under normal conditions, solution being prepared in amounts required for unlimited swelling of polymer and oxidation process being conducted until polymer is entirely dissolved. Poly-1,4-ethylenepiperazine-N-oxyde thus obtained is further subjected to alkylation to give alkyl-derivatives. Polymeric products exhibit physiological and pharmaceutical activities.
