FIELD: chemical, food-processing and allied branched of industry. SUBSTANCE: apparatus has drying chamber built into variable-section separator and equipped with dried material discharge windows and charging branch pipe. Drying chamber has slight drying and drying sections successively arranged in the course of advancement of material. Slight drying section inlet end is communicated with drying section and is formed as truncated cone faced downward with its small base. Space is defined between separator lower base and slight drying section conical outlet end. Heat-carrier supply branch pipe is tangentially fixed in said space. Insert formed as truncated cone is located in separator above drying section in axially aligned relation thereto. Small base of insert is oriented upward. Drying apparatus provides fraction treatment of material, uniform heating and increased intensity of heat-and-mass exchange, which is of importance for drying materials with high moisture content. Construction of apparatus allows product particles to be prevented from getting into heat-carrier supplying branch pipe, stagnation zone formation to be avoided and, therefore, sticking of material particles to drying apparatus surfaces to be eliminated.
