FIELD: metallurgy and refractory industry; refractory stones for lining thermal units. SUBSTANCE: refractory stone consists of main and auxiliary parts articulated together and shifted relative to each other, thus forming projecting section of auxiliary part. Projecting section of auxiliary part is smoothly engageable with butt of main part forming transient zone. Opposite butt of main part has skews following the shape of transient zone at area adjoining auxiliary part. Thickness of transient zone is equal to 0.2 to 0.3 of thickness of layer of auxiliary part. Transient zone may be oval or straight in shape. Area of projecting section is 2 to 50 % of area of main part articulated with auxiliary part. Main part may be wedge-shaped in form and may be articulated with auxiliary part by its widened end. EFFECT: enhanced strength of refractory stone. 6 cl, 2 dwg
