FIELD: determination of mechanical properties of materials. SUBSTANCE: procedure determining dynamic yield point consists in loading of specimen to emergence of plastic deformation of its surface, in measurement of residual deformations of surface of specimen, in further determination of temperature difference in zone of action of heat flow, deformation rate, accumulation of plastic deformation in process of loading and in determination of dynamic yield point by obtained data. Loading is carried out by series of local pulse actions of heat flow with various combination of flow density and exposure time, mentioned combination being chosen from condition of equality of maximum temperatures in zone of action of heat flow per each series. In process of loading it is possible to maintain specified medium-mass temperature of specimen by additional action of defocused heat flow on surface of specimen not subject to local pulse action. EFFECT: capability to determine dynamic yield point at high temperature under conditions of nonuniform heating with simultaneous reduction of cost of test. 1 cl
