FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves determining functional activity of polymorphous nuclear leukocytes in blood using NST-test both spontaneous one (sNST) and with He-Ne laser radiation in vitro (vtNST). Modulation index (vtMI) value is calculated as ratio of vtNST to sNST. The result is compared to a reference value that is equal to 1.3. High efficiency of laser radiation therapeutic is to be expected in the case of vtMI being equal to or greater than the reference value. The value being less than the reference value, low efficiency of laser radiation therapeutic is to be expected. It means that laser radiation therapeutic is not indicated to a patient of this type. EFFECT: high accuracy and reliability in selecting patients for laser radiation treatment; treatment low costs. 2 tbl
