FIELD: medicine, optics. SUBSTANCE: invention is meant to warn man approaching obstacle and to evaluate distance to it to secure safety of man's movement. Infrared locator for people with poor eyesight incorporates frequency divider, pulse counter and storage register. Strip of point photoconverters comes in the form of line charge-coupled device which output is connected through amplifier-limiter to controlling input of storage register whose information input is coupled to output of pulse counter which counting input is linked in parallel with output of pulse generator, controlling input of line charge- coupled device and input of frequency divider. Output of frequency divider is connected to infrared radiator and reading reset input of pulse counter. Output of storage register is connected to output of digital-to-analog converter. EFFECT: increased precision in measurement of distance to obstacle. 1 dwg
