FIELD: commercial fishing method. SUBSTANCE: method involves selecting area and time of setting catching equipment; setting catching device providing for passage of fish through predetermined section; hauling catching device in predetermined time and determining amount of fish yield. Catching device comprises catches of cascade order adapted for catching objects moving in concrete direction. Predetermined section is effective area of catches of cascade order in catching object movement zone. Catching device is set between fattening and wintering zones so that catches of cascade order intersect supposed site of migrating flows of objects of catching at predetermined period. Method further involves determining path of flows of objects of catching by comparing catching results obtained from virtual setting of catches of cascade order and results obtained from real setting of catches of cascade order in food-fish water area coinciding with place where real catches are set; providing three-staged setting of catches of cascade order: first stage involves sequentially arranging catches of cascade order in "catch-guiding wing-catch" pattern in single line at an angle equal to marine course angle establishing catches of cascade order; second stage involves setting catches of cascade order in direction coinciding with that of arrangement of the most effective catches of cascade order revealed at first stage; third stage involves setting catches of cascade order while taking into account the extent of filling catches of cascade order within each cascade order revealed at second stage. EFFECT: reduced cost of forecasting fish yield at predetermined time and in predetermined area by avoiding the procedure of collecting additional information. 4 dwg
