FIELD: nature protective technologies. SUBSTANCE: method involves using agricultural crops such as sorghum, Sudan grass and sunflower for cleaning soil; preliminarily wetting seeds of said plants for one day time in phytohormone solution; slightly drying and sowing on contaminated soil area; mowing plants 30-40 days later and extracting roots; determining amount of contaminants in soil and of obtained material; burning the latter. Indoleacetic acid solution with concentration of 1•10-5-1•10-7 g/l is used as phytohormone. Method allows contaminated soil to be recovered.
