FIELD: chemistry; biochemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to biotechnology and is aimed at cleaning the environment from polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) pollutants using microorganisms. The Sinorhizobium meliloti P221 bacteria strain is extracted from reed root growing in soil polluted with PAH, deposited under registration number B-9442 at VKPM. The strain decomposes polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, stimulates plant growth and can be used to clean soil.
EFFECT: strain increases phytoremediation of PAH-contaminated soil.
