FIELD: rolled stock production, possibly manufacture of rolling rolls. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of working adjoined surfaces of beaded shaft and threaded portion, of bandage, of locking nut while providing guaranteed gap between roll axle and bandage; joining above mentioned surfaces at using axial tension of roll axle and fixation of said tension by means of locking nut. Roll axle is tensioned due to heating it in portion of mounting bandage at rotating axle or heater relative to axle. Then bandage is mounted and locking nut is screwed on; temperature of axle heating is normalized. Invention provides transmission of admissible rolling moment with desired safety factor without using hydraulic devices. EFFECT: lowered labor consumption for assembling rolls, enhanced manufacturability, operational reliability of rolls. 1 dwg, 2 tbl
