MULTISAW WOODWORKING MACHINE Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

FIELD: woodworking; applicable in through-and-through sawing of logs into boards, beams, etc. SUBSTANCE: machine has body, chain saws driven by a single spline shaft (replacing sprockets) connected to drive by smooth engagement clutch. Guiding bars of chain saws are connected with spline shaft by chain saws only. Opposite ends of bars have two webs each between which rollers with cylindrical external surfaces are secured on axles with clamps. Cylindrical external surfaces serve for saw catching protrusions passing over them, and web rounded edges, for links of saw chains. Bars are pulled-up to cross beam by springs with the help of bar axles with clamps. End sections of bars are locked by two guiding axles passed through bar slit-like holes. Changeable separating bushings are provided on guiding axles on both sides of bars and articulated bushings in bar slit-like holes for setting clearance between saws and production of blanks of preset thickness. Turning half-frame whose turning axis coincides with driving spline shaft serves for inclination of saws through an angle of ± 30 deg relative to vertical axis of driving shaft. Claimed machine is also provided with feeding and receiving drums. EFFECT: simple in design and readjustment for given size of produced beams; small weight and dimensions; low maintenance and capital expenditures; low cost in manufacture due to simple design; more efficient in operation and mobile in reinstallation to new operating positions. 7 cl, 4 dwg
