FIELD: railway transport; permanent way maintenance facilities. SUBSTANCE: proposed rail joint expanding and adjusting device has two supports coupled by two hydraulic cylinders whose and sleeves are hinge-connected by means of axles in seats of supports on one of which pump oil tank, four clamping wedges moving in slots of support and shifting rollers are mounted. Support on which pump with oil tank is installed and axles of hinge joints are provided with inner channels to feed oil from pump to hydraulic cylinders. Surface of wedge adjoining rail head is made with slope corresponding to slope of side surface of rail head. Hydraulic cylinders are provided with travel limiters in form of union nuts.
