ON BOAR FUEL GAUGING SYSTEM WITH STATIC DIELECTRIC FUEL PERMEABILITY COMPENSATION Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

FIELD: aircraft instrumentation engineering; measurement of mass fuel capacity on board maneuverable aircraft. SUBSTANCE: proposed system includes external tank suspension and jettisoning warning units arranged in fuel tanks, fuel flow-rate sensors and fuel static dielectric permeability meters mounted in service lines of wing tanks, refueling flow-rate sensors and static dielectric fuel permeability meter mounted in filling main of wing tank, as well as level sensors and static dielectric fuel permeability meters mounted in fuselage tanks. System includes also three fuel content computer, two comparison units, numerical setting and indicator. System is also provided with fuel density compensator - static dielectric fuel permeability for efficient compensation for mass capacity measuring error; static dielectric fuel permeability is measured at direct or alternating low-frequency current. EFFECT: enhanced accuracy of measurement at space evolution and g-loads, as well as during in-flight refueling. 4 cl, 1 dwg
