FIELD: plastic working of materials with use of energy of electric explosion of metallic wire. SUBSTANCE: dielectric sleeve is filled with transfer medium and it is hydraulically insulated by means of rubber plugs. Metallic wire to be exploded and electrodes connected to it are arranged in said sleeve. Each electrode is in the form of rod with cross section whose area exceeds that of wire cross section. Rigid framework is also placed in cavity of dielectric sleeve having two metallic end walls mutually joined by means of metallic studs and being in the form of plano-concave lens with central through opening. Curvilinear surfaces of lens are turned one to another; two dielectric sleeves with supporting flange are placed in their central through openings. Electrodes are arranged in said sleeves. Dielectric sleeve has bead whose length is less than that of electrode rod arranged at side of said bead. Apparatus provides increased time period for acting upon worked object. EFFECT: improved quality of pressed-in tubes, enhanced efficiency of process with use of such apparatus. 2 cl, 1 dwg
