HAND TRUCK BRAKE Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

FIELD: brakes for movable wheeled facilities. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to braking devices of medical beds for new born children, hand trucks for medical apparatuses, instrument tables, control panels with self-alignment casters and wheels which do not turn around vertical axles. Proposed brake for hand trucks has brake shoe installed on tie rod vertically movable under action of brake actuator in post coupled with wheel axle fork. Device is furnished additionally with lever mechanism with intermediate link secured on post. Actuator is made in form of movable bushing located inside post and connected at one side with tie-rod, and at other side, with intermediate link of lever mechanism by means of axle made for longitudinal displacement in post slot. Tie-rod is made for longitudinal displacement in bushing and locking in bushing to prevent turning. Tie-rod is motionlessly fixed in bushing. Compression spring is installed in post between movable bushing and tie-rod. Connected of tie-rod with movable bushing is made with clearance between upper end face of tie-rod and inner surface of movable bushing. EFFECT: improved convenience in operation owing to provision of quick and reliable braking of wheels. 9 cl, 5 dwg
