METHOD OF BIOLOGICAL ADDITIONAL TREATMENT OF SEWAGE Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

FIELD: ecology. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to biological treatment and disinfection of domestic-household and industrial sewage that are dropped from sewage constructions. Method involves contact of sewage with higher aqueous plants, macroalgae and microalgae under flow conditions. For this purpose sewage are fed to bioplateau limited by draining bank by uniform layer in consumption up to 4000 m³/24 h/1 ha through a distributing channel at basic coast of floodplain. Flood swamp or swamped flood meadow can be used as bioplateau. Biologically treated sewage are fed with consumption value up to 0.5 m³/s on upper part of water-distributing channel made with a slope 0.0003-0.0005, wide is 3-5 m, deep 0.5 m or above. Method excludes pollution of underground water-bearing layers. Invention is designated for enhancement of efficiency of sewage treatment and decrease of their effect on environment.
