FIELD: chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of synthesis of hydroperoxides by oxidation of hydrocarbon with oxygen-containing gas in the presence of the definite compound for selective transformation of hydrocarbon to the corresponding hydroperoxide. The indicated definite compounds are compounds that are able to trap free radicals, for example, oxygen-, nitrogen-, phosphorus-, sulfur-, carbon- and silicon-containing radicals and compounds that are able to form these radicals in reaction system. This method can be used for oxidation of hydrocarbons comprising cumene, cymene, m-diisopropylbenzene, p-diisopropylbenzene, 1,3,5-triisopropylbenzene, isopropylnaphthalene, diisopropylnaphthalene, isopropyldiphenyl and diisopropyldiphenyl. EFFECT: synthesis of corresponding hydroperoxides with high selectivity. 12 cl, 15 ex
