FIELD: industrial microbiology. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to reagents used for suppression of growth of sulfate-reducing microorganisms and inhibition of hydrogen sulfide-induced corrosion and can be used in oil processing industry for prevention of growth of sulfate-reducing microorganisms in oil field media and flooded oil layer and for protection of equipment against hydrogen sulfide-induced corrosion. Reagent for suppression of the growth of sulfate-reducing microorganisms and inhibition of hydrogen sulfide-induced corrosion comprises formaldehyde-base product. The latter is the product of interaction of 30-40% an aqueous or an aqueous-methanol solution of formaldehyde (formalin) and ammonia taken in the mole ratio formaldehyde : ammonia = (1.6-3) : 1. Invention provides the enhancement of efficiency of inhibition of the growth of sulfate-reducing microorganisms, inhibition of hydrogen sulfate-induced corrosion, expanded assortment of available and inexpensive reagents showing high effectiveness for control the growth of sulfate-reducing microorganisms and hydrogen sulfide-induced corrosion, high neutralizing ability with respect to hydrogen sulfide and light mercaptans.
