FIELD: bactericidal compositions. SUBSTANCE: bactericidal composition is used in oil and gas producing industry for suppression of growth of sulfate-reducing bacteria in oil field media and waterflooded oil formation and also for neutralization of hydrogen sulfide in oil field media and protection of equipment from hydrogen sulfide corrosion. Claimed bactericidal composition has commercial form of formaldehyde - formalin or paraformaldehyde and additionally treated absorbing solution formed in process of cleaning gases from sulfur with aqueous solution of mixture of monoethanolamine and formalin, with the following ratio of components, wt.%: commercial form of formaldehyde (formalin or paraformaldehyde), 15-65; treated absorbing solution, 35-85. Bactericidal composition suppresses growth of sulfate-reducing bacteria and inhibits hydrogen sulfide corrosion, excludes polymerization of formaldehyde and sedimentation of polyformaldehyde in storage, transportation and use.
