FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: catalyst converter has housing with intake and outlet branch pipes, reactors with catalysts arranged in parallel with gas flow and exhaust gas distributor made in form of disk enclosed in housing and provided with holes uniformly spaced over circumference with intake valves fitted in holes. Each valve is adjusted to suit specific mode of operation of internal combustion engine. Screw grooves are made in front part of housing and on outer surface of distributor. Balls are fitted in spaces thus forming screw pair with possibility of rotary reciprocation of distributor relative to housing under action of exhaust gas pressure, with number of detented positions less by one than number of reactors and provided by ball lock installed between housing and distributor. Radial slots are made in distributor in which gas flow guide vanes are freely fitted. Guide vanes form sectors in number equal to number of reactors, and guide projection of spring in center of rear end face wall. One of intake valves of distributor is made in form of shutoff valve adjusted to pressure exceeding pressure to which other valves are adjusted. Moreover, pull-back spring is installed between distributor and reactors symmetrically relative to converter axis and is secured on support disk. EFFECT: improved efficiency of exhaust gas cleaning, reduced fuel consumption of engine, and increased engine service life owing to automation of process of regeneration of catalyst converters and change in order of their operation. 3 dwg
